The Language Resources Center (Sprachenzentrum) at TU Darmstadt offers the opportunity to all the exchange students (Incommings) in Darmstadt (Erasmus or Sokrates) to attend German courses.

Each Fall (September/October) Spring (March)is an annual 4-week German intensive course. This course will help you to prepare for the upcoming winter/summer semester and for your course in Darmstadt. The first step is to take a placement test (Einstufngstest). Dates and locations are listed at Dates and Times.

It is also possible for exchange students to attend German courses at the Language Resource Center during the regular semester.

If you have participated in intensive courses, you are not required to take a placement test (E-Test). You may send an email directly to fipais@spz.tu-… to register for the regular semester courses.

For those wishing to register for regular semester German courses, an extra date will be offered for you to write the E-test. Once you have received your test results, you will be given priority to register for German courses. Dates and locations may be found at News and/or Dates and Times. Please be aware that your privilege as an exchange student expires after 21.10.10, after which we cannot guarantee a place in the course.

Please also note that n order to reserve your place in a course, all participants, including Incoming/Erasmus/Socrates students, must attend the first class of the semester. All those who miss the first day will forfeit their place in the course.

All courses are free of charge for exchange students.
