The language resource centre (Sprachenzentrum) of the Technische Universität Darmstadt offers Summer school participants a four week intensive course in German. The course is designed to give students the opportunity to extend their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. Authentic material, project work and speaking activities help students to review and build up their knowledge of the German language.

The four-week course is divided into thematic modules such as:

• The German City
• History and Culture in German
• Informational and Media Technology

The practical language instruction includes daily morning instruction as well as a major project in the afternoon twice a week. The project is designed to encourage students to practise language skills outside the normal classroom atmosphere.
