Russian as a scientific/technical language – oral communication

This course is aimed at students who already have a good knowledge of Russian, either because Russian is their heritage language or because it has already been acquired to a good level of proficiency. The aim of the course is to be able to communicate well orally in Russian, to give presentations in one’s own field and to formulate and defend one’s viewpoint in a coherent and structured manner. Grammar skills and oral expression are improved upon based on various topics. The final exam consists of a presentation on a scientific/technical topic of your choice.

Russian as a scientific/technical language – written communication

This course is aimed at students who already have a good knowledge of Russian, either because Russian is their heritage language or because it has already been acquired to a good level of proficiency. The aim of the course is to write scientific/technical texts in Russian at a high level. Grammar skills and written expression are further improved by means of various text types. We will be using current scientific/technical texts, which will be handed out during class. The course ends with a final exam.

Writing course Russian – for advanced students

This course is aimed at students who already have a good knowledge of Russian because it is their heritage language, but who are not able to write well or at all with the Russian alphabet. The aim of the course aim is to have students acquire the Russian alphabet (both printing and cursive) and spelling. This course serves as preparation for advanced Russian courses. Grammar skills and written expression will also be further improved. The course ends with a final exam.
