European Documentation Centre

Would you like to know more about the EU, EU publications and EU language policy? Then come visit to the EDC stand. The European Documentation Centre (ECD) is an EU library, archive and information centre in one. As a point of contact for science and the region, the EDC researches and advises on all EU topics.

You want to know more about the role languages and multilingualism play in academic writing? At the SchreibCenter booth, you can create your language self-portrait and analyze multilingual academic writing.

Language Café

A total of four language cafés will be held throughout the European Day of Languages.


10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Unite! Language Café

At 10 tables, visitors will have the opportunity to speak the languages of the Unite! partner universities with guests from the Unite! university alliance: German, English, Finnish, French, Italian, Catalan, Polish, Portugese, Swedish and Spanish.


11:45 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Language Café

As with the regular weekly language café at TU Darmstadt, the language café is organised according to supply and demand: come together and form your own language table with your language of choice and use your language skills in a pleasant atmosphere.


3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

The final language café on the European Day of Languages will be introduced by the language café team from the TU Darmstadt Language Resource Centre and organized according to supply and demand: come together and form your own language table with your language of choice and use your language skills in a pleasant atmosphere.
