All students, exchange students and employees of TU Darmstadt can attend German courses offered by the Language Resource Centre.

These are regular semester courses and usually consist of two lessons per week in one 2-hour period.

German courses are part of the UNIcert® course system, based on the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference), and progress from A2-B1 (UNIcert I), B1-B2 (UNIcert II) and B2-C1 (UNIcert III). After completing the course requirements for a particular level, participants are eligible to write the UNIcert exam and obtain the UNIcert certificate for that level.

Intensive courses for international students are also offered during the two semester break periods, March and September.
