Society of Academic Study Preparation and Test Development (g.a.s.t.)

g.a.s.t. (Gesellschaft für Akademische Studienvorbereitung und Testentwicklung, Society of Academic Study Preparation and Test Development) is a nonprofit organisation. It is concerned with the development, administration, and validation of language proficiency and scholastic aptitude tests for international students, in particular TestDaF (Test of German as a Foreign Language), TestAS (Test for Academic Studies) and onSET (Online Language Placement Tests). In addition g.a.s.t. offers the web-based learning platform Deutsch-Uni Online (DUO). g.a.s.t. conducts research on examining and testing language and cognitive skills in the university context and uses the results of this research to develop, analyze and evaluate test procedures.
