The Language Resource Center not only offers English language courses for students and staff, but also provides advice and support to departments on setting up and running English-language courses in Bachelor's and Master's programs.
The English courses offered at the Language Center are divided into two areas:
1. General English courses
The aim of all courses is to develop and expand all four language skills: speaking, listening comprehension, reading comprehension, and writing. In some courses, one or more skills are dealt with. These courses are usually one semester long. General topics form the basis of all exercises, and active participation is expected from all learners. Not all courses in this area are offered every semester.
2. Scientific/technical English courses
The main goal of scientific/technical language training is to teach English relevant both to university studies and future careers. In this respect, the learning of specific subject vocabulary receives significant attention. These courses focus on expanding specialized technical/scientific vocabulary, speaking, writing, and intercultural knowledge.
