How does language training based on UNIcert® work?

Language training

Language training depends on the chosen language and the existing knowledge and proficiency the learner already has. Learners who are complete beginners can register directly via TUCaN in a language course. Course participants who have some knowledge of and proficiency in the desired language must take a placement test before the start of the lecture period. Based on the test result, their proficiency level is determined and the UNIcert® level for continuing their language training is specified. The test result is also used to decide whether a shortened training curriculum for the respective proficiency level is possible.

Language training in the UNIcert® system also requires that LSP courses (i.e., languages for specific purposes) are compulsory starting with UNIcert® III.

UNIcert® certificates

UNIcert® certificates can be obtained after finishing the respective language courses either by cumulative assessment or by taking an examination, depending on the chosen language.
