The Centre for Digital Language Learning at the Language Centre of TU Darmstadt (ZediS) was founded in October 2022 and has the aim of providing foreign language teachers support with the use of digital tools. Due to persistently rapid developments in the field of AI, thematic topics are in constant flux: Beginning with app recommendations and Moodle tips, the focus has now shifted to the use of translation tools such as Google Translate and DeepL, as well as AI writing tools such as ChatGPT, due in part to requests from colleagues. One of our goals is to inform fellow language teacher colleagues at the Language Resource Centre about the latest developments via peer exchange and to show them what possibilities such tools have to offer for foreign language instruction. The clear focus here lies with a conscious examination of AI tools and their targeted use in foreign language teaching. The aim is not only to make language teaching more varied and more in tune with the times, but also to make our daily work as language teachers easier through competent use of digital tools. Through workshops and recommendations for language teaching, ZediS acts as a source of ideas for media didactics that are well prepared for foreign language teaching.

In this stand-up talk, ZediS briefly presents its activities.
